In the past few years, we’ve seen a wide variety of matcha-infused delights, such as cookies, cakes, and ice cream.

This powdered green tea can definitely add a unique flavor (and a lovely color) to a plethora of matcha desserts, but that’s not all it’s good for.

While this round-up mainly consists of sweet treats, you’ll also see a few savory dishes on this in here, and they’re all must-tries.

If you’re crazy about matcha, I’m sure you’ll love these recipes very matcha.

Easy Matcha Latte Recipe and More!

1. Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte

Let’s start with what I think is the drink that launched the matcha craze here in the US.

This matcha tea latte is a wonderful blend of matcha, milk, and your choice of sweetener.

You can enjoy this drink hot, but I find it’s much more enjoyable with loads of ice.

Pro-tip: matcha powder has a very distinct flavor, so you’ll want to use it sparingly.

If you add way too much, your drink will have an unpleasantly bitter flavor.

2. Matcha Fudge

The classic fantasy fudge is great, but so is this one. With its flavorful matcha twist, this is the fudge you wouldn’t want to miss.

If you find regular fudge squares to be way too sweet, this version is for you.

The slight bitterness of the match provides a wonderful balance to the often cloyingly sweet dessert.

It also gets bonus points for being super easy to make.

3. Matcha Chia Pudding

Besides its unique flavor and lovely color, matcha also grew in popularity because of its myriad of health benefits.

It contains even more antioxidants than green tea leaves! And because it’s in powder form, it’s much easier to incorporate into dishes, such as chia pudding.

A blend of chia seeds, milk, and matcha powder, this breakfast dish is hearty, delicious, nutritious, and energizing. It’s the ultimate breakfast of champions!

4. Banana Matcha Smoothie

Banana and matcha make a fantastic flavor combination. Don’t believe me? Let this smoothie prove my point.

This powder drink is a blend of bananas, matcha, spinach, flax seeds, and almond milk.

It’s a great pre-or post-workout beverage packed with nutrients and flavor.

5. Matcha Cheesecake With Blueberry Swirl

Regular cheesecakes are great, but this one is exceptionally better.

I had no idea matcha and blueberries go so well with each other!

This cheesecake is silky and velvety. But it’s the unique flavor that’ll make you fall in love.

With the sweetness and tartness from the berries mixed with the earthiness and mild bitterness of the matcha, this cheesecake has such a wonderful balance of flavors.

6. Green Matcha Chicken Curry With Lime

Say hello to savory recipe number one. Who knew matcha and curry were a match made in heaven?

This is a Thai-inspired dish of chicken curry flavored with matcha, lime, and coriander.

As odd as this flavor combination seems, it works wonderfully. Don’t knock it until you try it!

7. Matcha Smoked Chicken

If you’re down to explore new flavor combinations, this is one of my go-to smoked chicken recipes..

Chicken is marinated in a brine of salt, peppercorns, honey, and matcha powder.

It’s then smoked in the same marinade to give it a fantastic combination of sweet, salty, umami, and smoky flavors.

8. Matcha Green Tea Cookies

These green tea cookies are as delicious as they are charming.

They’re crispy and buttery with a lovely combination of sweet and earthy.

Their green tinge alone will make you want to try one. Their flavor and textures will make you grab five more.

9. Matcha Cake

Is a loved one’s birthday coming up? Surprise them with this matcha cake! This masterpiece will definitely show them how much you care.

With layers of soft and fluffy matcha sponge cake and a silky Swiss meringue buttercream filling and frosting, this cake is the stuff of legends.

Finished off with a glorious matcha chocolate glaze, this birthday cake is not only delicious but stunning, as well.

10. Easy Matcha Crepes

Crepes are always a fun way to start the day. With this matcha-fied version, your morning crepes won’t just be delectable but nutritious, as well.

Top or fill them with your choice of sweet or savory ingredients. Personally, I love these with hazelnut spread and fresh berries.

11. Whole Grain Almond Matcha Muffins

Sweet, fluffy, and delectable almond and matcha muffins made with whole grains, this is as healthy as it gets!

Thanks to almond flour, matcha, and crunchy almonds on top, these muffins are sweet, but not overwhelmingly so.

This morning or afternoon snack isn’t only scrumptious, but also gluten-free and dairy-free to boot. It’s made for everyone to enjoy.

12. Matcha Pancakes

Here’s another power breakfast you’ll surely enjoy: matcha pancakes!

Just by looking at the photo, you can already tell just how light and fluffy these flapjacks are.

The matcha infusion gives the pancakes not just a buttery, but a lovely earthy flavor as well.

Serve them with maple syrup and fresh fruit for a hearty, tasty, and healthy morning meal.

13. Matcha Granola

Granola is already nutritious as it is, but adding matcha powder makes it an antioxidant powerhouse.

From the colors to the flavors to the textures, this healthy treat is 100% delightful.

It’s not like those healthy but bland and boring snacks that you’ll have to force down your throat.

14. Matcha Pie

With a crumbly and buttery Oreo crust and a silky and creamy matcha filling, this pie might just be your newest favorite dessert.

You’ll love how this pie isn’t overwhelmingly sweet. It has just the right balance of sweetness and earthiness that’ll leave you wanting more.

The filling also gets extra points for being no-bake!

15. Matcha Steak Rub

Matcha-flavored steak – this seems strange, but it works magnificently!

I know what you’re thinking – steak isn’t exactly the cheapest dish, so it’s not wise to experiment with weird marinades.

Don’t worry, I’ve taken the risk for you. And it paid off.

Besides matcha, the steak rub also includes Ceylon cinnamon, cumin, chipotle powder, and salt.

This seemingly odd combination gives steaks and other meats wonderfully earthy and spicy flavors.

Don’t take my word for it, though. Try it and see for yourself.

16. No-Bake Matcha Protein Bars

These protein bars are vegan, gluten-free, and downright delicious.

They have whole-grain oat flour, cashew butter, and matcha at their base, which makes them a robust source of protein.

Finished off with smooth and silky chocolate on top, they’re both nutritious and delicious.

17. Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream

Whenever I dine in at a Japanese restaurant, I always make it a point to have matcha ice cream for dessert. The experience is just not complete without it.

While ice cream flavors are mostly wildly sweet and loaded with mix-ins, this matcha ice cream is plain and simple.

With nothing but matcha, cream, sugar, and salt, this ice cream highlights the flavor of matcha in all its glory. It’s smooth, silky, and absolutely divine.

18. Creamy Matcha Vanilla Oatmeal

Oatmeal on its own is not exactly the most appetizing breakfast dish.

But the great thing about it is, with a few additions, you can easily transform it into a mouthwatering treat.

Steel-cut oats are given a delectable taste from matcha, vanilla, maple syrup, and almond milk. No one can fault this dish for being bland!

19. Matcha Zenzai

Bring the flavors of Japan to your home with this appetizing matcha zenzai!

It’s a mildly sweet and ultra-refreshing palate cleanser with a layer of red bean paste at the bottom and sweet mochi balls on top.

Where’s the matcha, you ask? It’s in the soup, which is poured over the bean paste and mochi.

20. Matcha Truffles

Give the traditional chocolate truffles with a matcha-rrific spin! These matcha truffles are such delectable bite-sized wonders.

Made with cream, white chocolate, butter, matcha, and raspberries, these truffles are decadent, but not too rich.

The sweetness of the white chocolate is counterbalanced by the earthiness of the matcha and the tartness of the raspberries.

Together, they make a seamless harmony of flavors.
