Crescent rolls are delicious; they’re buttery, flaky, and incredibly soft.
And these crescent roll appetizers take them to a whole other level of yumminess.
I’ve always loved these tasty rolls, but I never realized just how versatile they were.
There’s no limit to the variety of ingredients you can stuff into a crescent roll!
They work well for sweet, savory, and spicy foods. Crescent roll desserts are some of the easiest, most appetizing things you can make.
For this list, though, I stuck to the appetizers, so you won’t find much sweet stuff here.
You will find plenty of cheesy, savory, and meaty options, though.
1. BBQ Chicken Pizza Rolls
If you have a passion for pizza rolls but feel guilty eating those small, microwavable squares of grease and calories, make these homemade ones instead.
It takes about 45 minutes to make eight rolls, but they taste amazing, and though they aren’t huge, they’re bigger than microwavable pizza rolls.
Plus, they’re healthier and taste much, much better.
2. Spinach Dip Crescent Wreath
This spinach dip crescent wreath is ideal for the holidays.
It’s spectacularly gorgeous and not nearly as difficult to make as you might imagine.
Start with the creamy spinach dip.
Then lay your crescent roll dough out on a platter in a sun-shaped pattern with a small bowl in the center for spacing.
Put a generous helping of spinach dip in a circle around the base of the rolls, then roll each one.
It takes surprisingly little effort, especially considering how beautiful and creative the finished product is.
3. Ham and Cheese Pinwheels
All you’ll need to make these adorable and scrumptious pinwheels is ham, cheese, crescent rolls, and your preferred condiments.
I’d advise you not to skip the horseradish, though.
It adds a terrific kick of flavor, and without it, the pinwheels just seem like they’re missing something.
4. Cheesy Asparagus Crescent Roll Bundles
If you can pop open a can of crescent rolls and make them, you can make these three-ingredient bundles.
Instead of rolling them as usual, add a slice of cheese and an asparagus spear to each one first.
The buttery yumminess of the rolls tastes excellent against the asparagus’ earthiness and the cheese’s… well… cheesiness!
5. Pigs in a Blanket
You’ll make these almost exactly like you would the cheesy asparagus bundles above.
Only, instead of asparagus spears, you’ll add a hot dog!
I love miniature pigs in a blanket, but these full-size versions with cheese are even better.
Even people who aren’t huge hot dog fans tend to enjoy these.
6. Spinach Artichoke Pinwheels
I could go on and on about the delights of these pinwheels. Seriously. They are flaky, fluffy, cheesy, garlic-y, and 100% phenomenal.
They may not be as attractive as the spinach dip wreath, but what they lack in presentation, they make up for in flavor.
Every single bite of these pinwheels delivers a robust and herby taste that lingers on your tongue in the best way.
I could legitimately eat an entire pan of these myself, and that’s not a joke.
So if you’re making them for a game day appetizer or some other medium-to-large gathering, you may want to make at least two batches.
7. Bacon Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls
Bacon cream cheese crescent roll bites may not be the healthiest snack you can eat, but they’re certainly one of the most delectable.
They’re quick and easy to make, taking less than 20 minutes total, and every ingredient you’ll need is listed right there in the name – bacon, cream cheese, and crescent rolls.
Fill the crescent roll pieces with cream cheese, then wrap the whole thing in bacon.
Each one is small – about the size of a chunky pretzel bite – but practically overflowing with flavor.
They taste fantastic as-is and don’t really need anything extra, but sometimes, I make homemade garlic butter sauce for dipping because why not?!
8. Garlic Cheese Crescent Rolls
If you’re anything like me, the words “garlic” and “cheese” in the same recipe automatically guarantee I’m going to love whatever it is.
These garlic cheese crescent rolls are no exception.
Warm and buttery with garlic toppings and gooey cheese centers, the rolls are perfect with most meals but taste good enough to eat by themselves.
They’re also super easy to make, requiring only seven ingredients and less than 20 minutes to complete.
9. Jalapeno Popper Crescent Rolls
Jalapeno poppers always make an excellent appetizer. They’re filling, flavorful, and spicy.
Wrap them in a soft, flaky crescent roll, and they’re all that and more.
The rolls add a delicious buttery taste that plays well with the heat of the jalapenos.
10. Sausage and Cheese Crescent Ring
Do you like sausage rolls? Do you like them even better with cheese?
If you answered yes to either (or both) of those questions, then you’ll love this sausage and cheese crescent ring.
All you’ll need are sausage, crescent rolls, and Monterey Jack cheese to make them. (You can add an optional egg wash if you want.)
This ring is soooooo good; it’s like a cheesy sausage roll that’s been supersized.
11. Cranberry Brie Crescent Braid
I mentioned up front that there weren’t many sweet recipes on this list, but this is the exception.
It’s a little sweet and a little savory, filled with brie, cranberry sauce, rosemary, and orange zest.
The almonds and sugar on top add a bit of sweetness and crunch, and the crescent roll shell brings the whole thing together.
Serve it as an appetizer, a breakfast pastry, or dessert. It tastes great any time of day.
12. Cranberry Brie Bites
These cranberry brie bites are similar to the braid, but you can make them with only five ingredients and a muffin pan.
It takes less than 30 minutes to make two dozen, and each one is just the right size to be a mouthful of yumminess.
It’s hard to say no to something so sweet and tasty.
13. Spinach Artichoke Dip Cups
I don’t know what it is about crescent rolls that makes them perfect with spinach and artichoke, but whatever it is, it works.
These dip cups are bite-sized mouthfuls of yumminess.
They taste just like spinach and artichoke dip, but they’re much more sanitary because there’s absolutely no double-dipping with these.
If you love the bold flavor and creaminess of spinach artichoke dip and the tasty crunchiness of baked crescent rolls, you’ll go nuts for these.
14. Crab Rangoon Crescent Cups
And here is another recipe for bite-sized morsels with crunchy, buttery outsides and creamy, flavorful insides.
The crab is well-seasoned and tender, and the mozzarella is rich and gooey.
Simply put, these are awesome.
15. Crescent Roll Taco Ring
The crescent roll taco ring is another one of those dishes that looks complicated but isn’t.
You’re basically just making a taco salad, but instead of chips or tortillas, you’ll use crescent rolls.
It’s a great substitution, too.
I never thought about using crescent rolls with tacos or taco salad, but it adds a savory, comfort food quality that’s hard to beat.
16. Reuben Roll-Ups
With a can of crescent rolls, some Thousand Island dressing, corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut, you can make these zesty, meaty reuben roll-ups in 20 minutes or less.
These taste almost exactly like reubens, but they’re on a smaller scale.
Plus, if you love crescent rolls as much as I do, you’ll probably prefer them to the standard rye bread used for regular reubens.
17. Mini-Cheese and Onion Pastries
I have no idea why people don’t make savory pastries more often. They’re phenomenal. These are some of my favorites.
They take only 20 minutes to make and require only five ingredients – crescent rolls, cheddar cheese, green onions, olive oil, and dried dill.
Cheese and green onions always taste lovely together, and the addition of dill just adds a touch of zest that rounds out the flavor.
The only downside to these is that they’re very, very hard to stop eating.
18. Everything Crescent Rolls
These aren’t everything bagels, but you’d never know it by tasting them.
Maybe it’s the Everything Seasoning, or perhaps it’s the herb and garlic cream cheese spread – but whatever it is, these taste almost precisely like everything bagels.
The only real difference is that the crescent rolls are softer and fluffier than a traditional bagel.
19. Mini-Spinach Quiche
Many people shy away from making homemade quiche because they think it’s difficult and time-consuming.
With these mini-spinach quiches, though, it takes only 35 minutes total to make 16!
And don’t think that because they’re mini, that means they aren’t as good.
They have everything a full-size quiche would have – plenty of melted cheese and seasonings, bacon, spinach, onions, and more.
Plus, making them with crescent roll dough is a little touch of genius.
20. Mushroom Logs
I don’t usually save the best for last, but in this case, that’s precisely what I did, if you love mushrooms, of course.
Stuffed with cream cheese and mushrooms and topped with poppy seeds for additional flavor, mushroom logs are the appetizer mushroom lovers have only dreamed about until now.
They take less than half an hour to make, are easy (and non-messy) to eat, and require no dipping sauce or anything else.
They’re perfect just as they are. Each bite combines the deep earthiness of mushrooms and the light smoothness of cream cheese. I love them.
